Important Guidelines for CBSE Practical Exams 2025
Here are the notable guidelines released by CBSE for class 10 and class 12 practical exams:
Preparations by Schools

Schools must ensure they have an adequate supply of practical answer books well before the scheduled dates.
-
Parents and students should be informed in advance about the exam schedule to ensure smooth participation.
-
Laboratories and required equipment must be fully prepared and functional to allow students to conduct their experiments without any issues.
Special Arrangements for Students
-
Schools must make necessary arrangements for Children with Special Needs (CWSN). This aims to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for CWSN during the practical exams.
Role of Examiners
-
For Class 12 practical exams, external examiners are appointed by CBSE. Every school must contact the external examiners well in advance to seamlessly conduct the practical exams.
-
It is mandatory for external and internal examiners to accurately upload students’ marks on the official portal on the same day of the assessment.
Marks Upload and Validation
-
Teachers must check the maximum marks assigned to each practical or project assessment before providing marks and uploading them. CBSE won’t allow teachers or examiners to make any modifications to the marks once they are uploaded.
-
Marks should be awarded solely based on students’ performance, and the accuracy of these marks is the joint responsibility of internal and external examiners.
Strict Compliance with CBSE Instructions
-
Schools must strictly adhere to the specified exam timeline between January 1 and February 14, 2025. CBSE won’t accept the marks of any school that will conduct class 10th and 12th practical exams outside this time frame.
-
External examiners for Class 12 must be appointed only by CBSE. Any assessments conducted with unauthorized examiners will be considered invalid.
-
CBSE may cancel the practical examinations of schools that don’t comply with the instructions of the board.
No Exemptions for National/International Sports Participants
