NEET Exam Pattern 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the NEET-UG entrance exam for aspiring medical students in India and abroad. This exam is conducted in pen-and-paper format. NTA outlines the exam pattern and details in the official NEET 2025 Exam brochure.

NEET 2025 exam is scheduled for 5th May 2025 (expected). The exam comprises four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, each with 50 questions carrying a total of 180 marks. Each subject is split into two sections: Section A and Section B. Candidates must answer a total of 180 questions out of 200 multiple-choice questions in the exam.

NEET 2025 Exam Question Distribution

The NEET-UG 2025 exam paper includes a total of 200 questions from three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates are required to answer 180 questions out of these. There are two sections in each subject: Section A and Section B. Below is a breakdown of the question paper:

    • Section A: 35 questions (all must be answered)

    • Section B: 15 questions (answer any 10)

Candidates should carefully read all 15 questions in Section B of each subject before answering, as only the first 10 attempted questions will be considered.

NEET 2025 Marking Scheme

The NEET-UG exam consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four answer options, where each question carries 4 marks for a correct answer. Each incorrect answer results in a deduction of 1 mark. Here's a table showing the marking scheme:

NEET 2025 Languages/Medium of Exam

NEET-UG 2025 allows candidates to choose their exam language from 13 options including English, Hindi, and various regional languages. The choice of language is selected during registration and cannot be changed later.

  • The language for NEET 2025 depends on what candidates choose.

  • It's available in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

  • Candidates must pick their language when they register for NEET and can't change it later.

  • English-only test booklets are given to candidates who choose English.

  • Candidates selecting Hindi or another language get a test booklet in both English and their chosen language.

  • If there's any confusion in translations, the English version of the NEET question paper is considered final.

NEET 2025 Exam OMR Filling Instructions

To ensure proper administration of the NEET 2025 exam, candidates must adhere to the following guidelines for filling out the OMR sheet:

  • Answers must be marked on the OMR sheet with a ballpoint pen.

  • Changing answers is not permitted.

  • Any alteration on the OMR sheet is considered a serious offense.

  • Rough work should be done in the test booklet.

  • The test booklet code must be written on the OMR sheet.
