JEE Eligibility 2025: NTA will soon publish the JEE eligibility 2025 on its official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. The JEE eligibility criteria include essential details such as age limits, educational qualifications, qualifying marks, compulsory subjects, and more. It is crucial for candidates to meet the eligibility requirements to attempt the JEE exam. 

Those who don’t fulfil any of the eligibility requirements can not take the exam even after completing the registration process. Therefore, prospective applicants must ensure they meet all the JEE eligibility criteria 2025 before starting the registration process.

ST/SC candidates: 65% in class 12

Admission into B. Tech/BE Course

Candidates must have passed 12th grade or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Technical Vocational Subject.

Admission into B. Plan Course

Candidates must complete class 12th or equivalent exam with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

Admission into B. Arch Course

Candidates must have passed 12th grade or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.

JEE Eligibility 2025 Age Limit 

There is no maximum age limit for the JEE Main exam 2025. Students who completed their class 12 or equivalent in 2023 or 2024 and those who will take the class 12 board exam in 2025 are eligible to take the JEE Main 2025.

JEE Eligibility 2025 Number of Attempts

Candidates can attempt JEE Main 2025 twice a year, once in January (Session 1) and again in April (Session 2). They can take one or both sessions to improve their scores. The only restriction is that candidates can appear for the exam up to three consecutive years after passing their class 12 or equivalent exam.

JEE Eligibility 2025 Minimum Percentage 

For JEE Main 2025, candidates are no longer required to have a specific percentage to apply for B.E./B.Tech. courses. However, for securing a seat in IITs and NITs candidates of UR category must achieve 75% aggregate score in their class 12 board exam. Additionally, candidates belonging to ST/SC categories should secure 65% aggregate marks in class 12 for admission to IITs and NITs.

List of Qualifying Exams for JEE Eligibility 2025

Here is the list of examinations candidates must qualify to meet the JEE eligibility criteria set by NTA:

  • 10+2 board or final examination from any recognised Central/State Board, such as ICSE, CBSE, etc.

  • Final exam of the two-year course at the NDA's Joint Services Wing.

  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University exam conducted by a recognised Board/University.

  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the NIOS with at least five subjects.

  • Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.

  • 10+2 or equivalent exam completed in India or abroad from any Public School/Board/University recognised by the AIU.

  • Three-year diploma program recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

  • General Certificate Education (GCE) exam (Cambridge/London/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma exam or the Cambridge University High School Certificate Examination from the International Baccalaureate Office in Geneva.

  • If the Class 12 Exam is not a public examination, the candidate must have previously passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination.

  • Candidates who completed their Class 12 (or equivalent) exam outside India or from a Board must present a certificate from the AIU stating that their examination is equivalent to class 12 exam.
