IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 exam are as follows: 

  • Candidates must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks (or equivalent) in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board exam. 

  • Or, candidates must be in the top 20 percentile in their respective class XII (or equivalent) board exam. 

  • Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1999. A two-year age relaxation may be applicable as per UAE national policy. 

  • Candidates can attempt the CAET exam a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. 

  • Candidates should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) exam for the first time in either the current year or the year immediately preceding. 

  • Candidates should not have been previously admitted to any IIT, regardless of whether they continued in the program or accepted and then vacated an IIT seat. 

  • Candidates must have an EmSAT score in mathematics of at least 1150/2000 or an SAT score in mathematics of at least 700/800. 

  • Candidates must meet the minimum English proficiency requirement with a score of 1100 on the EmSAT English Language test, a TOEFL score of 500 or equivalent (173 CBT, 61 iBT), or an overall IELTS academic score of 5.5. The test must have been taken within the last two years. 

The CAET 2024 exam is open to Indian residents in the UAE, Emiratis, and international students who meet the eligibility criteria. 

IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 Application Process

The IIT Delhi-AAbu Dhabi campus is offering two B.Tech. programs for the 2024–25 academic year: Computer Science and Engineering and Energy Engineering. 

  • Admissions will be conducted through the Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET) 2024, which is a pen-and-paper exam scheduled for June 23, 2024. 

  • The CAET 2024 exam is open to UAE nationals, UAE residents, and international students. The exam will be held in cities across the UAE. 

  • The CAET 2024 application portal will be open from May 16 to June 3, 2024. The registration fee is 300 AED. 

  • Alternatively, Indian students who have qualified for JEE Advanced 2024 can also apply for admission to IIT Delhi-AAbu Dhabi through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) process. 

  • International students and Indian students with OCI/PIO cards need to provide additional documents like 12th grade transcripts, English proficiency scores, and national ID cards.

IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 Exam Pattern

The IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET) 2024 will have the following exam pattern:

Exam Duration: The exam will be of 3 hours total duration, with each subject paper being 90 minutes long.

Subjects and Question Types

  • The exam will consist of three question papers in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

  • The questions will be multiple-choice type.

  • The papers will be in English only.

Exam Mode: The CAET 2024 will be a pen-and-paper based exam, with responses to be marked on an OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet.

Marking Scheme: Although sufficient care will be taken for the correctness of questions, in the event that a question(s) needs to be dropped, full marks for that question(s) will be awarded to ALL candidates.

Syllabus: The syllabus for CAET 2024 will be based on the Class 12 (or equivalent) curriculum, covering topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
