IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 Eligibility Criteria: The IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 eligibility criteria requires candidates to complete their class 12 board exams with minimum 75% aggregate score. Additionally, candidates must be born on or after 1 October 1999. 

The information brochure of IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 provides detailed IIT Abu Dhabi CAET eligibility criteria. Prospective candidates aiming to enter IIT Abu Dhabi to pursue a B.Tech degree must fulfil the eligibility requirements. Candidates who do not meet these eligibility requirements won’t be provided with the CAET admit card, which is crucial to participate in the exam.

IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The IIT Abu Dhabi 2024 eligibility criteria for CAET applies to UAE Nationals, UAE Residents, and International Students. The basic CAET eligibility criteria for admission to IIT Abu Dhabi are as follows:

  • Candidates must achieve a minimum of 75% aggregate marks (or equivalent GPA) OR be ranked in the top 20 percentile in their respective class 12 board examination. The overall aggregate marks are determined based on scores in five subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, a language, and an additional subject.

  • Candidates must have a birth date on or after 1 October 1999. However, there may be a two-year age relaxation as per the UAE national policy.

  • Candidates are allowed a maximum of two attempts within two consecutive years.

  • Candidates should have appeared for their class 12 examination for the first time in either the current year or the preceding year.

  • Candidates must not have taken admission in any IIT previously, regardless of their continuation in the program or acceptance and subsequent vacation of an IIT seat.

IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 Standardised Test Score Requirement

For admission to IIT Abu Dhabi, candidates must qualify for standardised tests like SAT, TOEFL, or IELTS. The table below shows the score requirements for EmSAT/SAT:

Besides SAT scores, IIT Abu Dhabi also requires language proficiency test scores for shortlisting candidates. Here are the details of the minimum score candidates must achieve in TOEFL or IELTS:

IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 Eligibility Criteria for Citizenship

IIT Abu Dhabi has specific eligibility criteria for different citizenship. In addition to the aforementioned criteria, candidates should consider the following points when filling out the CAET application form:

  • UAE Residents: Indian nationals who are dependents of UAE residents residing in the UAE for at least the last 5 years and have completed their schooling from class 10 to 12 in the UAE.

  • International Students: Candidates other than UAE and Indian nationals, including those who have obtained PIO/OCI cards on or after 04.03.2021, are considered international students.

  • Age Relaxation: UAE Nationals who have completed one year of compulsory military service will be granted a one-year relaxation in age requirements. These candidates must submit valid certificates provided by the competent authority.

IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024 Eligibility Criteria for PoD

IIT Abu Dhabi provides 30-minute compensatory time to PoD candidates in each paper of CAET. Additionally, these candidates are provided with the facility of a scribe during the exam. To avail of these benefits, the candidates must meet the PoD eligibility criteria for the IIT Abu Dhabi CAET exam.

To be recognised as a PoD candidate, applicant must upload a valid certificate duly signed and issued by the medical authority of the UAE Government. Candidates who do not provide the necessary documents during the CAET application process will be considered under the general category. Therefore, PoD candidates must provide the necessary documents to meet the eligibility requirements.
