The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is one of the most challenging and competitive tests for engineering aspirants in India. Preparation for the JEE requires a structured preparation strategy, a concrete study plan and good resources like study materials and practice tips. Candidates should begin their JEE preparation with a thorough knowledge of the JEE syllabus.
The National Training Agency (NTA) has not released the JEE syllabus reduced yet. Still, there has been some apprehension that the JEE 2024 syllabus will be revised or reduced because of the change in the NCERT syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In this article, we have provided the latest updates on the changes in JEE Syllabus 2024 to help students assess the revisions that might happen in the upcoming JEE syllabus.
Why is the JEE 2024 Syllabus Reduced or Revised?
There has been a rationalization of the NCERT textbook syllabus to make it more compact and informative. Subsequently, the NEET 2024 syllabus, which has links with NCERT class 11 and class 12 syllabus, has also been reduced. So, there is a possibility that these changes may also result in a revision of JEE Main syllabus 2024. NCERT has removed several sections and chapters from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics textbooks for Class 11 and 12. The following changes have been introduced in the syllabus of class 11 and class 12 NCERT books.
-
Physics: A few topics across Class 11th and 12th NCERT syllabus have been removed.
-
Chemistry: Some chapters have been completely removed, and a few topics have been deleted.
-
Mathematics: All chapters have been retained, but a few topics are deleted from the Class 11th and 12th syllabus.
When will the JEE 2024 Revised Syllabus be Notified?
There has been no official announcement from NTA regarding the reduction in JEE syllabus 2024. The JEE 2024 exam will be conducted in January 2024, so any revision in the JEE 2024 syllabus is expected to be notified within October 2023. Students must watch the official website of NTA to get updates on the JEE 2024 syllabus.
